Gethsemane – the necessary crushing of Judaism and Christianity

Introduction

Sometimes there comes a time when the form of the bible based religion of the day of God’s people has become so encrusted with traditions and half truths and customs that prevent the inner essence of God’s word from flowing forth. The Leaders and the People have built up some doctrines and traditions that are good but other doctrines and traditions are not good. It is just like the tree of the knowledge of Good and Evil. And the fruit it produces is bad. Not only is the fruit bad but the Leaders and the People that follow them have become blind and no longer do the will of the Lord.

And in order to bring revival the old outer layer or husk must be crushed. The fig leaves of religion are thus removed so that our inner nakedness can be properly exposed and dealt with and then covered by the Lamb skin that our redeemer provides. The old outer husk of the olive must be crushed in order for the inner essence can flow.

This is what must happen to what we call Judaism and Christianity. They both have good things within them and they both have evil doctrines that are not based on God’s word. And finally we as individuals need the carnal nature dealt with so that the hidden man of the heart can be revealed, Yeshua HaMashiach. There is a crushing coming to what we call ‘Judaism’ and ‘Christianity’ that will bring us back to the true Torah path in Yeshua HaMashiach.

Gethsemane

Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder.

Matthew 26:36

The time of our Lord’s greatest trial was also the path to his greatest victory. In the Garden that He loved, in the very Eden that Adam was driven from, in Gethsemane out Saviour our King our Lord prayed with sweat that dripped blood. This was the night of His Passion. There He knelt before His Holy Father and accepted the Yoke that Heaven had chosen before the Universe was created. It was love that led Him forth to the cruel cross of Rome. It was love that gave Him strength to endure unto the end. And it was Love that would raise Him up. For He who knew no sin, became sin, so that we may have life through Him. Yeshua died for the sins of His people, Israel and Judah in fulfilment of Jeremiah 31.

Gethsemane means the <olive> ‘oil press’. And crushing is the only way to get the olive oil that represents the Spirit. The outer husk, the flesh of the olive must be crushed. Not only must it be crushed but it must be beaten for light. 

And thou shalt command the children of Israel, that they bring thee pure oil olive beaten for the light, to cause the lamp to burn always.

Exodus 27:20

As it is in the natural so it is in the spiritual dimension. The oil of God’s spirit flows when the olives are under pressure. And this process pulverises the carnal husk.

Carnality & the flesh within Judaism & Christianity

There is much that is good that is within the House of Judah (Jews) and the 10 lost tribes House of Israel (scattered amongst the Christians in America, Australia and New Zealand and elsewhere).

But there is also much that is carnal and ungodly. There is much that is of the flesh in all of us, even amongst Messianics. I have written about this at length in the article titled ‘Star Bellied Sneetches & Messianic Pride‘ which deals with this.

And there are attitudes and blindnesses that go all the way back to the patriarchs, and the 12 sons of Jacob. The old enmity and jealousy that was in the sons of Israel is in their descendants to this day. The old penchant for idolatry is still there no matter what Pastor or Rabbi may say to the contrary. And Jacob’s prophecy concerning his sons in the last days will find it’s ultimate fulfilment as we enter into the birth pangs of Messiah’s return and the events of the tribulation. Jacob said that these prophecies concerning his sons would find their fulfilment in the ‘last days’ this includes the last 2 days of 2000 years of Messiah and on into the final crucible of the tribulation itself. 

Cleanliness and stitching Jacob together

For 3000 years Jacob has been effectively split in two after the 10 northern tribes separated from the tribes of Judah and Benjamin in 1 Kings 12.

This was a very painful divorce. Jacob had been cut in half.

Now as the Wheat of the Kingdom has been brought in over these past 2000 years of Pentecostal Harvest it is time to put Jacob together again.

But stitching Jacob back together will be even more painful and difficult than the separation even as surgery is painful and complicated.

Surgery requires cleanliness. And so does the Lord. The sins that are in both houses of Israel are about to be cauterised.

There are fundamental tenants of both Judaism and Christianity that are unbiblical and irreconcilable to both the Torah of Moses and the New Testament of Yeshua HaMashiach. There are traditions of the sages and church fathers of both houses that are in rebellion to our Father יהוה and His word. These will have to be amended before Jacob can be put together.

The sin of Judah
Year’s ago the prophet Jeremiah declared that the sin of Judah is written with an iron pen with a diamond point. Yeshua brought judgement upon the unbelieving leaders in His first visitation. Judah has continued in the sins of their fathers by condemning the Holy and the Just to this day and casting out the believers from amongst their congregations.

The sin of Judah is written with a pen of iron, and with the point of a diamond: it is graven upon the table of their heart, and upon the horns of your altars;

Jeremiah 17:1

The Rabbis amongst the Jews are deeply antagonistic towards Yeshua and those that believe in Him are almost always cast out of their assemblies. This is a great sin and it cannot continue if Israel is to be grafted back into it’s own vine.

The Sin of Israel (Christianity amongst the ten lost tribes)
Contrary to church doctrine, there is sin amongst the Israelites scattered in the west and in the church in particular. There has been an antinomian spirit, an attitude towards the Torah that is not scriptural. But this is not the main reason for judgement. This is because the lost tribes are treated as Gentiles until such time as they ‘Wake Up’ to Torah. The Sabbath was not given as a sign to the Gentiles but to Israel. When Gentiles awaken to Torah and the Sabbath it is a sign that they are not Gentiles for the most part.

But the reason that judgement is coming to the church in the west is because of breaking the other commandments like adultery, theft, bearing false witness (lying), sins of the flesh, sexual depravity of every kind. The salt has lost its savour and the churches for the most part are not preaching a true gospel but have pandered to their selfish immoral younger generation. And there is nothing to be done but burn it to the ground and trample it underfoot.

The Remnant of Judah & Israel

As both Christianity and Judaism are convulsed in turmoil and destruction the true believers of both shall survive. As the blind leaders amongst the Pastors and Rabbis stumble in the dark those that are awake will see what is going on and be led by God. Destruction is coming to America, Australia and the world. And sadly in the land of Israel many Rabbis and so called spiritual leaders will lead their flocks into following their godless secular political leaders who are tied to Rome under the surface. They will say that white is black and black is white. Indeed there are Rabbis today that are already doing this. They align themselves with the secular state even as the Jewish Leaders in Yeshua’s day said that they have no King but Caesar.

There are other Rabbis and Torah Jews that will not yield to Rome and the current secular Jewish State controlled by Rome. These true Torah based Jews they will be pressed down severely. They need our prayers. This pressing will cause the Remnant of Judah to turn to the Lord and Messiah of Israel. Because He is the only one that can help them. The current state of Israel is secular and it must yield to a Davidic Monarchy under the Messiah of Israel, Yeshua. Only then will the temple be built in Righteousness. For God’s House is always established in righteousness and destroyed through wickedness.

Meanwhile our own nations where the lost tribes reside amongst the heathen will be pressed and crushed. So we are both in travail together even if separated by geography.

Sadly there are many Jews and Lost tribes that will have to go through great travail in order to come to their senses, but if they are the Lord’s remnant then they will make it through, though battered and torn.

If you are a gentile and are learning to keep the Sabbath and feasts then you are listening to the Holy Spirit and you may be from the lost tribes of the House of Israel. God is not out to destroy those that are listening to Him. But we do all need to learn humility and suffering does produce this good fruit.

There are olives that will be left on the tree after it is shaken (as we shall see shortly). There is a remnant amongst the Jews and Christians that are obeying Yeshua and Torah and that remnant will grow as the trauma of World War 3 takes hold and the Lord pours His Spirit out on all flesh. Sadly this outpouring will exacerbate the difference between believer and unbeliever. If you read Joels prophecy the outpouring is occurring at a time of uncleanness and war (trumpet blast) when the moon turns to blood. There are a lot of blood moons on the way.

Jacob made thin – only a few olives remain

The Prophet Isaiah prophesied of a time when Jacob would be made thin. This is at a time when Damascus was destroyed. This time may be coming very soon if current developments in Syria keep on going. Israelites should be on guard because the destruction of Damascus heralds judgement upon Israel. This includes both Judah and Ephraim, both Jews and lost tribes.

4 וְהָיָה בַּיֹּום הַהוּא יִדַּל כְּבֹוד יַעֲקֹב וּמִשְׁמַן בְּשָׂרֹו יֵרָזֶֽה׃

5 וְהָיָה כֶּֽאֱסֹף קָצִיר קָמָה וּזְרֹעֹו שִׁבֳּלִים יִקְצֹור וְהָיָה כִּמְלַקֵּט שִׁבֳּלִים בְּעֵמֶק רְפָאִֽים׃

6 וְנִשְׁאַר־בֹּו עֹֽולֵלֹת כְּנֹקֶף זַיִת שְׁנַיִם שְׁלֹשָׁה גַּרְגְּרִים בְּרֹאשׁ אָמִיר אַרְבָּעָה חֲמִשָּׁה בִּסְעִפֶיהָ פֹּֽרִיָּה נְאֻם־יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ ס
7 בַּיֹּום הַהוּא יִשְׁעֶה הָאָדָם עַל־עֹשֵׂהוּ וְעֵינָיו אֶל־קְדֹושׁ יִשְׂרָאֵל תִּרְאֶֽינָה׃

4  And in that day it shall come to pass, that the glory of Jacob shall be made thin, and the fatness of his flesh shall wax lean.  5  And it shall be as when the harvestman gathereth the corn, and reapeth the ears with his arm; and it shall be as he that gathereth ears in the valley of Rephaim.  6  Yet gleaning grapes shall be left in it, as the shaking of an olive tree, two or three berries in the top of the uppermost bough, four or five in the outmost fruitful branches thereof, saith the LORD God of Israel.  7  At that day shall a man look to his Maker, and his eyes shall have respect to the Holy One of Israel.

Isaiah 17:4-7

So there you have it, there is about to be a very large ethnic cleansing of both houses of Israel and Judah, Jacob is going to be made thin. There is sin in the camp and it can no longer be hidden. If it is not dealt with sternly then all of Jacob would be corrupted. The Lord in Mercy will bring judgement. And that judgement at the hands of the enemy will be cruel indeed. And Edom and Amalek will only be too glad to help in the day of Jacob’s trouble. Unless the Lord left us a very small remnant we would have been totally corrupted.

Except the LORD of hosts had left unto us a very small remnant, we should have been as Sodom, and we should have been like unto Gomorrah.
לוּלֵי יְהוָה צְבָאֹות הֹותִיר לָנוּ שָׂרִיד כִּמְעָט כִּסְדֹם הָיִינוּ לַעֲמֹרָה דָּמִינוּ׃

Isaiah 1:9 

The Remnant of Israel and Judah

The olives in the outermost branches of Jacob shall survive! The good news is that both a remnant of Israel and Judah will be saved and they shall return to the land and plant and build in righteousness. Even now there is a remnant of Judah in the land of Israel today that shall stand and not bow to Rome. The battle is for Jerusalem. In the process they shall find Messiah. Meanwhile there is a remnant outside the land that shall flee to the hills in the nations where they dwell in America and Australia etc.

So if you are finding it hard to hold on to both Torah and Yeshua, be strong in the Lord, because the stakes are very high and the Lord is dealing now with a remnant. Be strong. The children of Israel shall be regathered weeping, but they shall be regathered.

4 בַּיָּמִים הָהֵמָּה וּבָעֵת הַהִיא נְאֻם־יְהוָה יָבֹאוּ בְנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵל הֵמָּה וּבְנֵֽי־יְהוּדָה יַחְדָּו הָלֹוךְ וּבָכֹו יֵלֵכוּ וְאֶת־יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵיהֶם יְבַקֵּֽשׁוּ׃

5 צִיֹּון יִשְׁאָלוּ דֶּרֶךְ הֵנָּה פְנֵיהֶם בֹּאוּ וְנִלְווּ אֶל־יְהוָה בְּרִית עֹולָם לֹא תִשָּׁכֵֽחַ׃ ס

6 צֹאן אֹֽבְדֹות הָיָה עַמִּי רֹעֵיהֶם הִתְעוּם הָרִים שֹׁובֵבִים מֵהַר אֶל־גִּבְעָה הָלָכוּ שָׁכְחוּ רִבְצָֽם׃

7 כָּל־מֹוצְאֵיהֶם אֲכָלוּם וְצָרֵיהֶם אָמְרוּ לֹא נֶאְשָׁם תַּחַת אֲשֶׁר חָטְאוּ לַֽיהוָה נְוֵה־צֶדֶק וּמִקְוֵה אֲבֹֽותֵיהֶם יְהוָֽה׃

4  In those days, and in that time, saith the LORD, the children of Israel shall come, they and the children of Judah together, going and weeping: they shall go, and seek the LORD their God.  5  They shall ask the way to Zion with their faces thitherward, saying, Come, and let us join ourselves to the LORD in a perpetual covenant that shall not be forgotten.  6  My people hath been lost sheep: their shepherds have caused them to go astray, they have turned them away on the mountains: they have gone from mountain to hill, they have forgotten their restingplace.  7  All that found them have devoured them: and their adversaries said, We offend not, because they have sinned against the LORD, the habitation of justice, even the LORD, the hope of their fathers.

Jeremiah 50:4-7

Yes the Shepherds of Israel have caused the sheep to be scattered. If you read the prophecy in Ezekiel 34 you will find out that the Shepherds will be destroyed and the Lord will raise up new shepherds. The Lord will judge between fat cattle and thin cattle, between carnal and spiritual. And he will judge between sheep and sheep. The remnant of the flock that the Shepherds have scattered will be brought to the mountains of Israel in the last days while the rest will be destroyed. There is no other way. Our Lord and our Saviour is a Holy God. He is the “Holy One of Israel”.

Anyway the good news is that the crushing of the olives produces the oil of joy, even the spirit of peace and unity that binds Israel and raises her up along with the Temple Worship and Priesthood of Levi. The oil used for anointing is olive oil. And the olive oil will flow when the olives are pressed and crushed.

שִׁיר הַֽמַּעֲלֹות לְדָוִד
הִנֵּה מַה־טֹּוב וּמַה־נָּעִים שֶׁבֶת אַחִים גַּם־יָֽחַד׃

2 כַּשֶּׁמֶן הַטֹּוב עַל־הָרֹאשׁ יֹרֵד עַֽל־הַזָּקָן זְקַֽן־אַהֲרֹן שֶׁיֹּרֵד עַל־פִּי מִדֹּותָֽיו׃

3 כְּטַל־חֶרְמֹון שֶׁיֹּרֵד עַל־הַרְרֵי צִיֹּון כִּי שָׁם צִוָּה יְהוָה אֶת־הַבְּרָכָה חַיִּים עַד־הָעֹולָֽם׃

1  A Song of degrees of David.
Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!
2  It is like the precious ointment<lit. oil – shemen> upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments;
3  As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.

Psalms 133:1-3

So unity comes from the Holy Spirit because it is related to the oil. And the oil that flows down Aaron’s beard and down his garments can only flow once the olives are crushed. And after we are crushed then we are useful to our master. Before we are crushed we have potential that cannot be accessed. Sadly there are many that will be crushed and killed in Israel and Judah because they fail to take heed to the Messiah and His Torah word. But the remnant of both houses may be crushed spiritually but not so that they physically die, but that they come to an end of themselves. After this sort of crushing they then come alive.

Yeshua is the unmoveable Rock of Israel, He is fully Yahweh and fully Man.
He is the Messiah. And all that fall upon him will be broken. If we are His disciples then we will go through many trials. Meanwhile those that are religious hypocrites amongst the Jews and Christians who do not put their trust in Him and have their faith proved by their works will be crushed and destroyed along with the ungodly.

44  And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.

Matthew 21:44

So we need to fall upon the Messiah before He falls upon us. Let us be humble and broken before Him who’s eyes are like a flame of fire. If we are humble and obedient then even as He was full of the Holy Spirit so shall we also be vessels fit for the masters use and able to endure the testing that is coming. We will be led by the Holy Spirit and the Lord will guide us through the coming turmoil.

The good outcome of crushing the olives is that the oil of joy follows, that equips us for service and salvation.

In Psalm 45:7 we read that the Messiah, the anointed one is anointed with the oil of joy because…

Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness:
therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil
of gladness above thy fellows.
אָהַבְתָּ צֶּדֶק וַתִּשְׂנָא רֶשַׁע
עַל־כֵּן מְשָׁחֲךָ אֱלֹהִים אֱלֹהֶיךָ שֶׁמֶן שָׂשֹׂון מֵֽחֲבֵרֶֽיךָ׃
