The Seed of the Serpent & the Seed of the Woman

When we read the bible, especially Old Testament History we find that history has a way of repeating itself. What happened in the lives of the fathers happened to their children. This is a topic for another day but we can see the effects of the fall of the human race in even our own lives as we all have a fallen sinful nature. We see the effects of this fall of our first parents Adam and Eve, here and now, with us! That fall in the Garden of Eden ripples on into our own lives. Thank goodness we are saved by grace alone through faith in Yeshua HaMashiach!

But though we are saved by grace, the consequences of the fall ripple stubbornly through our frail and fallen nature.  Yes we may be God’s Sons and Daughters, but if we are ‘true blue’ believers we slowly begin to realize how much in us is wrong. Thank goodness that God sent His Son to save us. 

Let us learn a little about the good Lord’s promise to the Eve concerning that very redeemer. And let us consider carefully the struggle we have in this world in our flesh and with a very real adversary. We find that this adversary, the Serpent, who is the Devil and Satan (Revelation 12:9), has a seed!  He has descendants! Yes he has wicked children, like himself. 

After the sin in the Garden of Eden, when Adam and Eve decided that listening to a Snake was better than obeying the voice and word their creator we read of God’s judgement. Adam was told that he would work by the sweat of his brow and that there would be weeds and hassles in his toil, and finally at the end of it all, death. And the Lord spoke to his wife and pronounced His judgement on her sin. We read the following in Genesis 3:13-16;

ויאמר יהוה אלהים לאשׁה מה־זאת עשׂית ותאמר האשׁה הנחשׁ השׁיאני ואכל׃  14  ויאמר יהוה אלהים אל־הנחשׁ כי עשׂית זאת ארור אתה מכל־הבהמה ומכל חית השׂדה על־גחנך תלך ועפר תאכל כל־ימי חייך׃  15  ואיבה אשׁית בינך ובין האשׁה ובין זרעך ובין זרעה הוא ישׁופך ראשׁ ואתה תשׁופנו עקב׃  16  אל־האשׁה אמר הרבה ארבה עצבונך והרנך בעצב  תלדי בנים ואל־אישׁך תשׁוקתך והוא ימשׁל־בך׃

13  “And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.  14  And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:  15  And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.  16  Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.”

Genesis 3:13-16

So here we have two seed lines, the ‘seed of the woman’ and the’ seed of the Serpent’. Now we know that the Serpent is Satan for it is written;

“And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.”

Revelation 12:9

So we know who the Serpent of the Garden of Eden is, but who are his children? 

Principalities and Powers 

The Apostle Paul States in Ephesians 6:11-12 the following;

Ephesians 6:11-12 “Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.  12  For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

And so the ultimate source of our struggle down here with people has its root in the heavenly realms above!  We are spiritual beings clothed in flesh and our warfare is spiritual. If we don’t have this understanding, this illumination as to the non-physical source of our struggles, then we will fail in our attempts to rightly deal with our situations. And we need to learn to walk with God, like Jacob did, and became Israel. We have to learn that the things that are against us are actually there to teach us things, principally to bring us to an end of ourselves and to take hold of God. We like Jacob, may know about God, but it is through our struggles and trials of faith that we learn of him. And so even the work of the enemy, especially the Devil and his spiritual host, can in fact bring us to our knees in a good way, they can force us to walk with God in a deeper way. 

It is often through necessity that the children of God, come to an end of themselves in the wilderness of this world. Our struggle with sin and with ourselves brings us to the cross afresh. And the cruel attacks of the enemy can do likewise.  If we hold onto God then the icy blasts of Satan’s wicked hosts will actually work in us perseverance, patience and Godly character – if we maintain our faith in God that is. We must persevere, like Job, through the darkening storm. We must hold on to the Lord, and not kick against him, knowing that He is perfecting us, working in us the character of His Son, if we hold on by faith. 

I have wasted many years fighting God, and being embittered through the cruel barbs and blows of the enemy. And many of the most hurtful attacks came within God’s house. Nevertheless there is a beauty in accepting those things that we cannot change and trusting in the Father even when our hearts are broken. 

So now back to the topic at hand. If we are truly born of God by His Spirit then we are in a fight. We are in a fight whether we want to be or not. We are attacked whether we want to get in the ring or stay on the sidelines. We are plotted against by men, hurt by false brethren, cursed and reviled. And often when we do good then we are evil spoken of. And we ourselves can easily hurt others in many thoughtless ways. So we are in a fight. And the Devil has his devils. The Spirit of Wickedness, has his principalities and powers in the Heavens. 

But he also has his earthly agents. Indeed even if you are from the lost tribes of the House of Israel, there are men and women that are not born of God even though they are physically children of Israel. There were many examples of that in the Old Testament scriptures. Indeed even in a believers household there are some that are wicked and some that are righteous. 

But there are some nations that are very bad. If Israel is a mixed bunch, full of good and bad fruit, full of wheat and tares, then how much more so will the nations be. And there are some nations that are particularly bad, some are so bad that the Old Testament prophets spoke of their utter destruction. The Lord will separate the nations at His glorious return between sheep and goat nations, Matthew 25:31-46. The goat nations shall be destroyed due to the way they treated His brothers (Israelites). We find many Arab nations and others that are scheduled for destruction in Amos and Ezekiel and other prophetic books.

So we will see that there are some physical nations, physical seed lines that are wicked. Some may have some repentant exceptions. But for the most part there are some nations which are almost entirely wicked. They are the Serpent’s Children, here on the earth – the seed of the Serpent spoken of by the Lord in the Garden of Eden.

How does this relate to the 10 Lost tribes of the House of Israel?

Now why is this important to us in our day? Well just as God is regathering the Jews (‘House of Judah’) into the Land of Israel, so too will He do with the ten lost tribes of the ‘House of Israel’. And just as they have been hurt through pogroms and world wars, so will the lost tribes. And if we have a better understanding of the enemies of Israel and what they are like, we can more easily identify them and their characteristics and perhaps not fall into their traps. We may not be able to do a lot about what is happening internationally, but we can listen to the word of God and at least be wary of making foolish and harmful peace with an enemy that would destroy us. For example it is a good thing to turn the other cheek but it is a bad thing to let an evil man destroy your family or congregation or nation. We need to learn the rules of war, from the word of God, and struggle in a godly and lawful way. We must put our faith in God.

Wicked Physical Serpent Seed

Let us look at some examples of these wicked seed lines from the book of Genesis for a starter.

• Cain & Abel
• Ishmael & Isaac
• Esau & Jacob

In the above pairs of brothers, the firstborn was a child of Satan, a child of the flesh while the second was a child of God, born of His Spirit, born from above. The second son was the true firstborn because He loved the Lord. Satan’s children are like their father, full of pride, lies & murder etc.

 – Cain & Abel 

It’s a sad testament to the fall in the Garden of Eden that Eve’s first son, Cain became the first murderer. When she saw her new baby boy she said in Genesis 4:1 – “I have gotten a man from the LORD.” Sadly Cain did not come from the Lord, in the sense that He was not a righteous man. In 1 John 3:12 we read that “Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother’s righteous.” So Cain was a son of Adam physically but spiritually he was of His father the Devil. His works proved who he was. We all sin, but Cain did not repent. He was bad to the bone! 

 – Ishmael & Isaac 

Ishmael was Abraham’s first son, but he was not God’s firstborn. Ishmael was a man of the flesh while Isaac was the true son of Promise. Isaac was God’s son, His chosen. 

Most reasonably bible literate believers understand that many Arab nations have Ishmael amongst them. They understand that Islam is the religion of Ishmael. In this Satanic Cult that is called ‘Islam’ they falsely teach that Ishmael was the chosen Son that Abraham offered up, not Isaac. This highlights the root of Islam as a controversy between two seed lines, the true son of promise Isaac and the son of the flesh, Ishmael.  Also Islam denies Yeshua’s death on the cross and His sonship. They say God has no son. We currently have a strong Islamic war against the western world. They want to destroy Israel and bible believing Christians. So we know about Ishmael, a wild donkey of a man, and his religion, Islam, is very much like him. 

11 ויאמר לה מלאך יהוה הנך הרה וילדת בן וקראת שׁמו ישׁמעאל כי־שׁמע יהוה אל־עניך׃  12  והוא יהיה פרא אדם ידו בכל ויד כל בו ועל־פני כל־אחיו ישׁכן׃

11  And the angel of the LORD said unto her, Behold, thou art with child, and shalt bear a son, and shalt call his name Ishmael; because the LORD hath heard thy affliction.  12  And he will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man’s hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren.

Genesis 16:11-12

After Abraham’s wife, Sarah died, he married another wife, Keturah. Keturah bore Abraham six sons, Zimran, Jokshan, Medan, Midian, Ishbak, and Shuah. They were trouble and men of the flesh like Ishmael. Midian in particular provoked Israel in the wilderness, Numbers 25:14, and later on opressed Israel, Judges 6:2, and teamed up with Amalek, Judges 6:2, to attack and raid their crops. Saudi Arabia seems to be the modern day stronghold of Midian. It export’s Wahhabi militant Islam world wide. 

And so today we have the Arab nations aligned against Israel and vowing the destruction of the Jewish people and the Christians in America etc. And there will be judgement from God against them as the old testament prophets have foretold. 

Of course the Good News is that you may be a descendant of Ishmael, but through belief in the God of Israel, through the New Covenant, through faith in Yeshua as the Son of God, you may come to know your sins forgiven through repentance. So the Olive branch of peace is held out to many, including the children of Ishmael, and other Arab or Muslim peoples.  But the time of the Gentiles is coming to a close and so we must repent today. Repentance is turning from sin and tuning to the Son, Yeshua and asking for forgiveness and walking in the light of His Word from Genesis to Revelation. In Genesis we read that Ishmael was in the wilderness crying, but God heard the voice of Ishmael, and a well of water was revealed and He did drink. May it be that many sons of Ishmael, come to a saving knowledge of the God of Israel, the creator of Heaven and Earth, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God and Father of our Lord Yeshua HaMasiach!

 – Esau & Jacob

Isaac had twin sons, Esau & Jacob. These twins struggled in their mother Rebekah’s womb. They had two very different but entwined destinies. They represented two opposing forces, one good and one evil.

ויאמר יהוה לה שׁני גיים בבטנך ושׁני לאמים ממעיך יפרדו ולאם מלאם יאמץ ורב יעבד צעיר׃

“And the LORD said unto her, Two nations are in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from thy bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the elder shall serve the younger.”

Genesis 25:23

Although Esau was the firstborn, he was a godless man and despised his birth right and lost his blessing. Jacob the younger son took both and later became known as Israel. Esau’s descendants became known as Edomites. Jacob was a man that prized what Esau despised, Jacob wanted to know God. In the end Esau’s descendants will be destroyed because of their continual hatred of Israel. Malachi 1:1-5

1משׂא דבר־יהוה אל־ישׂראל ביד מלאכי׃  2  אהבתי אתכם אמר יהוה ואמרתם במה אהבתנו הלוא־אח עשׂו ליעקב נאם־יהוה ואהב את־יעקב׃  3  ואת־עשׂו שׂנאתי ואשׂים את־הריו שׁממה ואת־נחלתו לתנות מדבר׃  4  כי־תאמר אדום רשׁשׁנו ונשׁוב ונבנה חרבות כה אמר יהוה צבאות המה יבנו ואני אהרוס וקראו להם גבול רשׁעה והעם אשׁר־זעם יהוה עד־עולם׃  5  ועיניכם תראינה ואתם תאמרו יגדל יהוה מעל לגבול ישׂראל׃

1  “The burden of the word of the LORD to Israel by Malachi.  2  I have loved you, saith the LORD. Yet ye say, Wherein hast thou loved us? Was not Esau Jacob’s brother? saith the LORD: yet I loved Jacob,  3  And I hated Esau, and laid his mountains and his heritage waste for the dragons of the wilderness.  4  Whereas Edom saith, We are impoverished, but we will return and build the desolate places; thus saith the LORD of hosts, They shall build, but I will throw down; and they shall call them, The border of wickedness, and, The people against whom the LORD hath indignation for ever.  5  And your eyes shall see, and ye shall say, The LORD will be magnified from the border of Israel.”

Malachi 1:1-5

These are strong words. Ultimately Esau and his descendants will prove to be one of Israel’s greatest enemies as the return of Yeshua draws near. In fact when He returns, the descendants of Edom will be wiped out entirely forever in accordance with the prophecy in the book of Obadiah. This is a far worse fate than Ishmael, because there may be some descendants of Ishmael through the Millennial reign of Yeshua here on earth. Or at least Ishmael’s fate is not so emphatically declared in scripture as Esau. Esau’s descendants, called the Edomites, will be totally destroyed, Obadiah 1:18,21. Herod was an Edomite, an Idumean. He tried to kill Yeshua at his birth and his son handed him to the Romans for crucifixion many years later. 

But there will be some genuine believers from Esau’s bad line, but in general they will be godless like their father Esau.  There is much about Edom that the ‘House of Israel’ needs to know because his descendants still play the same game, especially as the Lost tribes return to the land of Israel. But this is topic for another article at another time.

Ok, so we see that some bloodlines are bad and are against the God of Israel and the people of Israel and the followers of Yeshua HaMashiach. But amongst these nations there may be genuinely repentant people who turn to the Messiah, Yeshua and forsake their old ways. This has always been the case, even in the Old Testament, for example Ruth the Moabitess and many others. 

And there are those that are part of Israel but are unbelievers and wicked; for example, Korah and Dathan who opposed Moses, or the two sons of Eli who were priests who committed sexual sins. There were many from the House of Israel that were worshippers of Baal in the times of Elijah. And the list goes on and on. 

So there are some nations that are very bad in general, having started from a bad beginning, from a father that was wicked in some way. And there are wicked people from the descendants of Israel. 

In Matthew chapter 13 we have the parables of the Kingdom. In one of those parables, the ‘Parable of the wheat and the Tares’ we are told;

“38 The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;  39  The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.  40  As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.  41  The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;  42  And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.”

Matthew 13:38-42

“For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.  12  Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother’s righteous.”

1 John 3:11-12

Thus Satan’s seed is like Satan, full of murder and cruelty.  

Yeshua spoke to the religious hypocrites of His day, the Pharisees, and He told them just who they were when he said in John 8:44;

“Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.”

John 8:44

“Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?  17  Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.  18  A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.  19  Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.  20  Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.”

Matthew 7:16-20

There is much more to say on the subject of the seed of the woman versus the seed of the Serpent, but at least you begin to see that there are Satanic bloodlines, like Esau. And there are people from bad bloodlines that are repentant, and people from the good bloodline of Israel who are not. Revelation chapter 12 sums it up nicely. 

And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Revelation 12:17

So our salvation is dependent on being attached to the tree of life, by faith, Yeshua, the Word of Torah made flesh. And if we say we follow him let us keep His commandments. We don’t keep His commandments to earn our salvation by works. No, we keep His commandments because we are born of God and the Spirit of God leads us to do those things written in the Law of Moses through relationship with the Son of God himself. 

“And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.  4  He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.  5  But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.”

1 John 2:3-5

So let us humble ourselves and honour His Son and obey His commandments. Let us abide in the Vine. 

Amalek

We will talk about ‘Amalek‘, the grandson of Esau and the absolute sworn enemy of Israel whom God has Commanded Israel to wipe out entirely! The failure to destroy one of Amalek’s descendants cost King Saul his Kingdom. And why is Amalek a big deal? Who do you think the NAZI’s were? (I am not saying all German’s were Amalekites, but they were amongst them and they rose up suddenly when the Jews began to return to the land). Again I am raising questions for further talks and I intend to cover the topic of Amalek at some length because it is very important because he attacks Israel when they return to the land. And He will attack the Lost tribes when they return to the land shortly too. It’s the same old dirty tricks and we need to be more familiar with this topic as it is in our manual, the bible, and it is there for a reason, for such days as we are beginning to enter into.

Fallen Angels & Nephilim

And besides Amalek, there is another twist in this talk about the seed of the Serpent down here on earth, and that is the topic of the Nephilim, the fallen ones, the Giants who were the illicit offspring of the Sons of God (Angels) and the daughters of Men, Genesis 6:1-4. But that discussion will have to wait for another day.

Conclusion

Hopefully you have seen in this short study that we do wrestle with principalities and powers. And we also do struggle with wicked men and women down here in the flesh too. And there are wicked nations, some of which will be entirely destroyed. There is wickedness in spiritual places, but there is plenty of it here on the ground too. There are Satanic Bloodlines, and these will prove to be Israel’s worst enemies in the last days, as the return of the King draws near.  

The descendants of Esau, and Ishmael will plot against the sons of Israel. There will be some that repent but for the most part they will go the way of Cain who murdered Able, they will turn against Israel. Now both Esau and Ishmael were sons of Abraham. There are many other sons of Abraham who contend with Israel also. And there are other races that God has spoken of and judged by his word and they too will be destroyed. This highlights the grace and kindness of God these past 2000 years. He has not executed His vengeance upon this world as its deeds deserve. He has been kind to Israel, and kind to the nations. He has given them time to mend their ways. And some individuals have responded, praise God.  Yet time is marching on and we need to be more aware of who is who and what the word of God has to say about them. This age of Grace is coming slowly to a close. And as it does so, these Satanic bloodlines will do wickedly and cause much grief.  

There is much more that can be said on this topic of Satanic bloodlines and this short study has really just introduced the idea.   We will look at some of these details in future talks. Suffice to say there is good seed and bad seed and by their fruits you shall know them.
