Who is Edom?
Edom and Israel are twins with two very different but entwined destinies.
Many Christians mistakenly assume Edom is an Arab.

Where does Edom live
Edom was blessed by His father Isaac and told that He would live by his Sword and that He would serve his brother Jacob. Many Christians are deceived into thinking that Edom is an Arab. The Arabs dwell in the East but Edom dwells in the West. Edom had a strong and controlling influence upon Rome.
You will find Edom in Northern Europe amongst protestant nations. And you will also find Edom wherever Jacob is (so that he can serve him). Most of the lost tribes left Europe after the protestant reformation and came to the new world, especially north America and Australia, New Zealand etc. You will therefore find a lot of Edom in those countries. Edom seeks dominion over Jacob.
Edom can come into the congregation of Israel after the third generation. So there are some Jews (not all) that are actually the descendants of Edomite converts. Of course anti semites love this thought and say all Jews are Edomites which is absolutely untrue. But there are some that are. And the same goes for Christendom, especially protestant. A lot of Edomites are Christian. Of course an Edomite may be a true convert. There have been good Edomites even as there have been bad Israelites.
Caleb was actually an Edomite convert who was from the Edomite tribe of Kenaz but was adopted as a prosolyte by Hezron of the tribe of Judah. So ultimately each of us no matter who we are descended from have the opportunity to follow the God of Israel through the Messiah of Israel, Yeshua.
The remnant of Edom in Possession (before the tribulation)
In the book of Obadiah we are told of Edom’s eventual total destruction. This has not been fulfilled yet. It is not until Messiah Yeshua returns that Edom is destroyed. But we are told in Amos 9 that Israel will possess the remnant of Edom. This scripture must therefore be fulfilled before the tribulation and return of the King!!!
9 For, lo, I will command, and I will sift the house of Israel among all nations, like as corn is sifted in a sieve, yet shall not the least grain fall upon the earth. 10 All the sinners of my people shall die by the sword, which say, The evil shall not overtake nor prevent us. 11 In that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and close up the breaches thereof; and I will raise up his ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old: 12 That they may possess the remnant of Edom, and of all the heathen, which are called by my name, saith the LORD that doeth this. 13 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that the plowman shall overtake the reaper, and the treader of grapes him that soweth seed; and the mountains shall drop sweet wine, and all the hills shall melt.
Amos 9:9-13
God has been sifting the lost tribes and Jews amongst the nations and will continue to do that until he returns them to the land. But before he does that he will destroy those sleepy Jews and lost tribes that think that nothing bad can happen to them. Then He will raise up the Tabernacle of David (the Temple and the Davidic Monarchy and even David himself). This may seem too incredible that the tabernacle of David will be restored before the tribulation but it is true and the clue is Edom is still in the picture. The temple shall be established in righteousness. This means the Levitical Priesthood will acknowledge Yeshua the Son of David and lead others to Him. This is what the raising of Lazarus symbolizes. The Kingdom is being restored in stages, the birthpangs of the Messiah.
We are told that Israel will possess the remnant of Edom. This cannot be after the tribulation! Most Christians are blind as to who Edom is. The Jews are much better informed. I have an entire series of articles about Edom here.
Although Edom is Jacob’s brother, he is also his enemy. God Says that he hates Edom in Malachi. But here there is a remnant in possession along with the nations callled by the Lord’s name. What does this mean? It means that even in Edom and in the nations there is a righteous remnant that joins itself to Israel through the Messiah and subject themselves to His commandments. It is only right towards the end that Edom turns totally bad. We are commanded to love the Edomite proselyte. This can be on a true Israelite soul but it is the word of the Lord. And it is not right to afflict a righteous convert, even one from an enemy nation.
Notice too that there is going to be blessing on the land, the ‘plowman shall overtake the reaper‘, that is the formula for returning the land to it’s Edenic state.
There is going to be a tremendous period of blessing and restoration after the total carnage of World War 3, after Islam is dealt a fatal blow and Paganised Christendom and the rest of the western world duke it out.
Sometime after this period of national blessing and Davidic restoration there will come a period of apostasy and the man of sin is revealed and the tribulation thus follows. The temple is always established in righteousness and destroyed through wickedness.
So there are Edomite converts that Israel possesses according to Amos 9.
Nevertheless on the whole, the soul of Edom seeks to gain dominion over Jacob and slay him.
Goats, Eagles and Serpents
Edom’s Ancient capital city is called Seir, which is related to the word for Hairy. Jacob put goatskin on his arm to similate the feel of Esau. Esau is thus related to a hairy goat. Goats are leaders. But their negative characteristics are so bad that they are often associated with sin.
Edom is also likened to an Eagle overlooking things from on high.
Finally Edom’s grandson Amalek is serpent like.
The Remnant of Edom
Just like Ishmael, there is a remnant of Edom that turns to the Lord during this period of grace before the return of Yeshua. Although Edom is Jacob’s enemy for the most part, there is a remnant that cleaves to the Messiah, Yeshua and the God of Israel. Later the descendants of these converts shall return to the ways of Edom their father and turn against Israel once more. Even so Israel is commanded to love the Edomite in their midst, that is, the convert.
Thou shalt not abhor an Edomite; for he is thy brother: thou shalt not abhor an Egyptian; because thou wast a stranger in his land.
Deuteronomy 23:7(8)
לֹא־תְתַעֵב אֲדֹמִי כִּי אָחִיךָ הוּא לֹא־תְתַעֵב מִצְרִי כִּי־גֵר הָיִיתָ בְאַרְצֹו׃
Although some of the more sensitive Israelite souls may feel a latent and well founded anxieity concerning Edom we are not to abuse genuine converts and make their lives bitter. Remember that they may be an Edomite according to the flesh but according to the spirit they may be from the Jerusalem above and are thus our brothers. The duty of any one that follows the God of Israel is to keep the commandments and follow Yeshua. We need to trust in the Lord for protection from our fears.
Before Messiah Yeshua returns Israel shall possess the remnant of Edom. These shall be believers. But their descendants shall turn against Israel later during the actual tribulation.
11 In that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and close up the breaches thereof; and I will raise up his ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old:
Amos 9:11-12
בַּיֹּום הַהוּא אָקִים אֶת־סֻכַּת דָּוִיד הַנֹּפֶלֶת וְגָדַרְתִּי אֶת־פִּרְצֵיהֶן וַהֲרִֽסֹתָיו אָקִים וּבְנִיתִיהָ כִּימֵי עֹולָם׃
12 That they may possess the remnant of Edom, and of all the heathen, which are called by my name, saith the LORD that doeth this.
לְמַעַן יִֽירְשׁוּ אֶת־שְׁאֵרִית אֱדֹום וְכָל־הַגֹּויִם אֲשֶׁר־נִקְרָא שְׁמִי עֲלֵיהֶם נְאֻמ־יְהוָה עֹשֶׂה זֹּֽאת׃
Israel shall surplant Edom and Amalek and take true leadership of the nations under the Torah of Messiah Yeshua when He returns. And the birthpangs of that process is already beginning as Israel slowly comes together.
Amalek – The Serpent Seed
Edom had a grandson named Amalek.
Amalekattacks Israel as they are returning to the land.
Israel is to have war upon Amalekfrom generation to generation and to exterminate the seed of Amalek. And if Israel does not do this then Amalek will do it to Israel.
For he said, Because the LORD hath sworn that the LORD will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.
Exodus 17:16
Many of the NAZI’s were from Amalek.
They tried to annihilate Israel as they were begginning to return to the land.
Many of them came to North and Soouth America and Australia to continue their subversive occultic agenda.
They are building the 4th Reich.

The Return of the King
King Yeshua shall return to this earth in glory with His Angels and the Saints (Kadoshim) to take this world by force. Every eye shall see him and every tongue confess that He is lord.
He shall rescue his sheep held in Bozrah by Edom and destroy Edom completely. As the Priest anointed for War (Deuteronomy 20) He shall have his garments splatted in the blood of His enemies (Isaiah 63:1). The descendants of Judah and Joseph who return from heaven with their king shall burn out the House of Edom (Obadiah 1:18). The saints that return with Yeshua the Son of David are referred to as saviours (plural) in Obadiah.
And saviours shall come up on mount Zion to judge the mount of Esau;
Obadiah 1:21
and the kingdom shall be the LORD’S.
