Ishmael’s Descendants
Abraham was promised a son by יהוה. However his faith was tested to the limit and he listened to his wife Sarah’s advice. Sometimes men need to listen to their wife’s voice (for example Pilot’s wife’s dream etc) but sometimes she is merely a channel for the voice of the serpent. The way to know the difference is for us to clearly hear from God ourselves and be hear his word and obey his commands. Abraham thought that he needed to help God fulfill his promise. And since Sarah wouldn’t conceive he used her handmaid!
Ishmael was the first son of Abraham through Hagar the Egyptian handmaid to Sarah his Wife (Gen 16:16).

Ishmael – a ‘Wild Man’
Ishmael was the son of the flesh, not the child of promise by God. Isaac was the child of promise who received the birthright. However God blessed Ishmael with 12 sons and numerous descendants. Ishmael was characterised by the Lord as follows;
And he will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man’s hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren.

פֶּרֶא אָדָם יָדֹו בַכֹּל וְיַד כֹּל בֹּו וְעַל־פְּנֵי כָל־אֶחָיו יִשְׁכֹּן׃

We can see that same wild ass spirit of violence and contention in Islam.
Ishmaelites became nomadic tent dwelling shepherds of sheep and goats. They had camels and horses and became raiders and slave traders. Joseph was sold by his brethren to the Ishmaelites who brought him down to Egypt.
Ishmaelites are Arabs but not all Arabs are Ishmaelites. According to wikipedia the nomadic Bedouin have a widely quoted saying
“I against my brother,
my brothers and I against my cousins,
then my cousins and I against strangers“.
This is very similar to the biblical quote above (Gen 16:12).
Ishmael mocked Isaac the true child of promise. Ishmael was sent to the desert wilderness and set up camp in Paran. Ishamel’s 12 sons became the 12 nomadic tribes (Gen 25:13). Their names were…

Ishmael today
Ishmael mocked the true Son of the Father, Isaac. Isaac was the father of both Jacob (Israel) and Esau (Edom) . Edom is mixed amongst Jews and Christians, living in the same lands following the same religion, either Judaism or Christianity but especially Freemasonry. Edom serves his brother Jacob in the same lands that Jacob dwells in according to the prophetic blessing given him by Isaac (Genesis 27:40). You will find Edom amongst the Jews in the state of Israel and America, Britain, Australia, New Zealand etc. You will also find Him in the same locations mixed in with the Christians. Edom is most related to the New World Order conspiracy. Edom lives by the sword and seeks to kill Jacob and usurp his authority for world dominion. (Anti-Semites say that all Jews are Edomites. This is false. Some Jews say that all Christians are Edomites. This also is false. The truth is is that there is a bit of Edom in both camps. And some Edomites get saved too! There are Jews that are Edomites and there are Jews that are really Jews too! There are Christians that are from Edom and there are Christians from the lost tribes of the House of Israel. There are Christians that are gentiles from other nations as well. The net has been cast wide through the gospel. But God has preserved the Two Houses of Israel and they will be reunited as per the prophecy in Ezekiel 37:15 of the joining of the two sticks.)
Anyway back to Ishmael. Old habits die hard. Ishmael is still mocking Isaac today because Ishmael’s descendants follow in the sins of their father. Islam is just a continuation of the lie that Ishmael was the true son, denying Isaac. They are still mocking the father’s true son. Ishmael’s descendants mock the descendants of Isaac, the Jews and Christians, calling them ‘monkeys and pigs‘. Thus Ishmael’s mockery echoes through time and is continued through the religion of Islam. They have disbelieved in Yeshua the true Son of God the Father.
There are now many Muslims living in Europe and America etc. Many Muslims are Arabs, but not all Arabic Muslims are from Ishmael. But you could say that Ishmael is the leader of the Arab’s. Midian, another descendent of Abraham through Keturah is another strong Muslim Arabic tribe too. You may find many of the descendants of Midian in Saudi Arabia. Midian is a very bitter enemy of Israel. So much so that God commanded Israel to harass Midian at every opportunity. Midian joined with Esau’s grandson, Amalek in their raids against ancient Israel. Amalek’s modern descendants can be identified by their Serpent like cruelty and cunning and utter disregard for God. They fearlessly attacked Israel from behind as they entered the promised land. God has commanded Israel to wipe out every single Amalekite from the face of the earth, man, woman and child and their livestock! Many of the NAZI’s are descended from Amalek. And the NAZI’s made a pact with the Muslims. Indeed that was the beginning of the modern day Muslim brotherhood. Many NAZI’s came to America after world war 2 and are in powerful positions in godless corporations, finance, the military industrial complex and the security services. The NAZI’s are controlling the Muslims via the CIA and other organizations.
In the end the enemies of Israel, Ishmael, Midian, Edom, Amalek etc shall join in a conspiracy against Israel. This is outlined in Psalm 83. But once Israel is walking in obedience to God they will turn on one another and destroy themselves.
Sadly we are living in a period of time where much of Israel has corrupted themselves. This includes the Jews and the Christian lost tribes in the west.
Ishmael and Repentance
As with Esau, there will be a remnant of Ishmael that will repent and follow the God of Israel but the majority will harden their heart and in the end they will be destroyed. Yet for the remnant of Ishmael that call upon the Messiah of Israel, Yeshua, there is a well of water for them in their dry and thirsty lands.
And God opened her eyes (‘Hagar’), and she saw a well of water; and she went, and filled the bottle with water, and gave the lad (‘Ishmael’) drink.

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

God’s house is open to the humble in heart.
Sadly Ishmael’s descendants for the most part have been enemies of the gospel and Israel. They follow Islam which denies the Son of God even as Ishmael mocked the true son of promise, Isaac.
But there is a remnant from Ishmael and other Arab peoples that the Lord has chosen for himself. And there are many Muslim peoples now turning to Yeshua in faith. It seems that there are seasons when God opens the doors of salvation to various nations. Now many are turning to him in Muslim lands. Praise the Lord! God is even speaking to them in dreams and visions just like the Angel of the Lord opened the eyes of Ishmael’s mother because God heard the cry of the lad. Praise YHVH. Praise Yeshua for his great kindness and longsuffering, not willing that any should perish, but that all that put their trust in Him may have eternal life!
Often former Muslims pay a very heavy price for following Yeshua as they are put to death by their own brothers, fathers and even mothers all because of the lie of Islam. True submission is a costly thing indeed. But heaven awaits those that like the criminal on the cross turn to Yeshua and believe.
No matter what nation we come from (except Amalek) there is the possibility for repentance for the individual. God’s desire is that all would repent. But the nations in general go the way of their fathers.
Both Abraham, Isaac and Jacob dug wells to water their flocks. When the children of Israel came out of Egypt during the Exodus they came to a place named Elim where there were 12 wells of water and 70 palm trees. The 12 wells represent the 12 tribes of Israel. The 70 Palm trees represent the 70 nations. The 12 wells of the 12 tribes of Israel provide the water of life to the 70 Palm Trees which are the 70 biblical gentile nations.
The word of God that the Sons of Israel carry is a source of blessing to the Nations. By cursing Israel and shunning the good news of Yeshua HaMashiach the Muslim Ishmaelite’s and other Arab peoples cut themselves off from the only source of the ‘Water of Life‘ that can save them. That is a sad song indeed.
Other Arab Peoples
The Arabs are a pretty mixed bunch of people. Indeed the name ‘Arab‘ is related to the word meaning ‘mixed‘. Arabs are descended from Noah’s son Shem, as is Israel and Edom etc etc.
Many Semitic tribes (i.e. descendants of Shem) have been quite nomadic so it is not easy to identify all the nations that contain their modern day descendants.
But certainly the religion that most of them embrace is ‘Islam’, which means ‘submission’. Sadly that is the one thing that they are not doing because Mohammed was a false prophet and rebelled against Torah, the Law of God, and harboured a deep hatred of Jews & Christians because they didn’t believe he was a prophet of God. Islam is just a religious excuse for an ancient bloodline hatred of Israel. It is demonic. Islam is not submission, it is codified religious rebellion.
The Arab’s that have the greatest animosity towards Israel and the gospel tend to come from Abraham’s sons -except of course Isaac who is the father of Jacob (Israel) and Esau (Edom).
Most of the Arab’s that descended from Abraham are found in the Arabian Peninsula.
After Abraham’s wife, Sarah died, be married another wife, Keturah. Keturah bore Abraham six sons,
- Zimran,
- Jokshan,
- Medan,
- Midian,
- Ishbak,
- Shuah.
They were trouble and men of the flesh like Ishmael. Midian in particular provoked Israel in the wilderness, Numbers 25:14, and later on oppressed Israel, Judges 6:2, and teamed up with Amalek, Judges 6:2, to attack and raid their crops. Saudi Arabia seems to be the modern day stronghold of Midian. It export’s Wahhabi militant Islam world wide.

Elam was settled in the Area of modern day Iran.
Asshur was in northern Iraq. Neither Elam or Asher are considered strictly Arabs. Arabs are to be found below these two peoples in the Arabian Peninsula.
Biblical Prophecies concerning the Arab nations
The bible has a lot to say about the fate of various descendants of Abraham that war against the sons of Isaac. And there are other Arab nations that are not descended from Abraham but come from other lines in Shem’s family tree.
I hope to add some brief details about these Biblical Prophecies here at some stage.

Ishmael’s 1st & 2nd born, Nabaioth & Kedar
Although there are gloomy prophecies about the nations that oppose Israel, we are informed of some good coming from some former enemies of Israel. The Lord God of Israel is both merciful and compassionate. However it also requires a change of heart on the part of Israel’s enemies. This will come when Israel rises.
The Prophet Isaiah gives us a glimpse of the Lord Yah’s future compassion, for Ishmael. They shall be involved in a future regathering of Israel. They will find acceptance before יהוה as they submit to the one true God, the God of Israel…
